Dancercise Kids® Curriculum
Muscles
My Heart
This is your warm-up number. You should perform this at the beginning of each lesson to get the kids stretched out and their muscles warmed up. Use this to highlight the lessons and sign language, and get the kids thinking about the muscle of the month, which is our Heart. Get as creative as you can with demonstrating your heart muscle – you can usually work a “love” theme into this if it’s appropriate for the local culture.

Dance Instruction
Tessa demonstrates how to teach and use this dance.
The favorite way to demonstrate your heart muscle is to have the kids check their heart rate (not by counting it, just a general sense) before you do this warm-up song, and then again afterwards. Of course, they should all say it’s beating faster and you can explain why.
